The event truly touched my heart and knowing how much finding a cure means to you, I was proud to lend support for this worthy cause. Hightstown Festival 2008

It was an honor to be invited as a guest speaker at the Hightstown Festival today. Mayor Bob Patten and his wife Kathy did an awesome job organizing the event today. Our sponsors Warm Spirit and Concorde Limo were also represented. This was a great experience to say the least.

What I am thankful for this Thanksgiving

I am thankful this year for the wonderful and most rewarding blessing of being Mrs. New Jersey United States 2008 and for all of my pageant sisters and new friends! You know who you are.

I am thankful for the many people who I've had the pleasure of meeting, helping and inspiring. I am very thankful for the ability to help the many organizations in which I support through fundraising.

I am thankful for Heather, Chris and Michelle for their inspiration, guideance and support during my reign.

Most thanks go to my husband John and my awesome son Marcus for their support and love.

Many blessing have been bestowed upon me in 2008 and I thank God!!!

Corporate Sponsorships

This week it was announced that Next Level Youth will receive a $7,000 sponsorship and the American Heart Association will receive a $5,000 sponsorship. This is extremely important to me as I am a member of both organizations and was responsible for gaining these funds. When I called the Vice President of Next Level to give him the good news, I began to cry listening to his words of appreciation and excitement. American Heart Association Start! Walk at Mercer County Park

Thanks to all who joined the American Heart Association Start! Walk on Sunday, September 14th. There were over 3,000 attendees, so if I didn't get a chance to say hello, please understand. There are many other Start! walks planned and you can get further information by visiting the website below. Special thanks to Karen Stives for her support and hard work. Karen is a young woman who had to endure double by-pass surgery last year. How wonderful she took the time to not only do a television show I secured for her, but also show up bright and early for the walk.

Biography - Evelyn McCleod - Mrs. New Jersey United States 2008

Evelyn takes her role as Mrs. New Jersey to heart, and pumps her positive energy into her platform “Healthy, Happy, and Wise,” a program designed to help people live heart-healthy, and to encourage students to avoid substance abuse and destructive decisions. She never misses a beat when setting her mission into action as an Substance Abuse Commission member and $5000 fundraiser for the National Organization for Youth Safety. Evelyn serves on the American Heart Association’s Annual “Start! Walk” Committee, and implemented AHA sponsorship as a core program at her company. Evelyn is a dynamic woman, extremely gracious, and is a certified public speaker. She was recently honored to be among the top 12 women from across the country recognized by our national organization for the work she has been doing to raise awareness about women's health issues, especially heart disease. A certified public speaker and longstanding public servant, Evelyn knows the pulse of the people, having served as homeowner’s association President, and having twice been elected to the State of NJ Democratic Committee. What makes her “tick” is the love of her husband of 20 years, John, and her 19-year-old son, Marcus. Evelyn demonstrates that women can have it all - it just takes a lot of heart!
